The Glamour photography industry classifies an intermediate kit as being any equipment or gear which you as a photographer have purchased with the sole purpose of making a second income with. It is termed this as it allows the individual photographer the flexibility to upgrade their existing kit to new or improved technology whilst not breaking the bank balance. Photographers that use an intermediate kit are usually classified as being at a semi-professional experience level. And a good indicator of this, would be if your current kit is redundant and not compatible with modern technology, you are making half of your income from photography whilst holding down a monthly paid 9-5 salary job, you have been paid to do more than five paid commercial or private photo shoots a month, you have been paid and published in a magazine or website more than three times a month.

 The Intermediate kit is more a recommendation on what next to upgrade too, or which modern equipment and gear to add to your existing kit. In the glamour industry, an intermediate kit is one which falls into the £600-£700  ($700-$800) budget bracket price range. The kit upgrade will be specific to your own individual needs and you may only want to add one or two extra items to your existing kit. The equipment and gear below is just a recommendation of which photography products most beginner glamour photographers are upgrading to in 2018.
